The first resident ambassador of Panama in Australia, Marcelino Aviles, held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marise Ann Payne.<\/p>\n
He had the opportunity to say goodbye and thank her for the support of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade to achieve the objective of opening the new Panamanian Embassy in Canberra, which promoted the strengthening of relations between the two countries. Minister Payne, for her part, expressed her country’s gratitude for Panama’s assistance in the cooperation of more than 700 Australians who were on the cruise ships MS Zaandam and MS Rotterdam, allowing them to pass through the Panama Canal and return home during the pandemic.
