Seguimos con las celebraciones de nuestro Bicentenario! Hoy es un d\u00eda muy importante para los paname\u00f1os porque el 10 de noviembre, hace 200 a\u00f1os, se dio el Primer Grito de Independencia de Panam\u00e1 del Reino de Espa\u00f1a por Rufina Alfaro, una mujer valiente que marc\u00f3 la historia de Panam\u00e1 y sigue inspirando a todas las paname\u00f1as. Este hecho hist\u00f3rico, se dio en la Heroica Villa de Los Santos, en la Provincia de Los Santos. En las fotograf\u00edas pueden apreciar la Pollera Montuna Sante\u00f1a, una pollera originaria de esta provincia. Su nombre surge del hecho que las mujeres que viv\u00edan en los campos apartados de la provincia de Los Santos, eran llamadas “Montunas”, y para \u00e9poca de fiestas bajaban a la ciudad de Las Tablas ataviadas con su pollerones de Zaraza.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Esta atuendo fue lucido por nuestra Agregada Cultural, Haydee Villarreal, como parte del desfile de trajes t\u00edpicos organizado por las Embajadas de Centroamericana en Canad\u00e1 en ocasi\u00f3n de celebrar conjuntamente del Bicentenario de Independencia de Espa\u00f1a.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Bicentennial’s celebrations continue! Today is a very important day for Panamanians because on November 10, 200 years ago, the First Shout of Independence of Panama from the Kingdom of Spain was given by Rufina Alfaro, a brave woman who marked our history and continues to inspire every Panamanians woman. This historical event occurred in the Heroic Villa de Los Santos, Province of Los Santos.<\/div>\n

In the photographs, the “Pollera Montuna Sante\u00f1a”, a “pollera” native to this province. Its name comes from the fact that the women who lived in the fields of the Los Santos province were called “Montunas”, and for festivities they came down to the city of Las Tablas dressed in their “pollerones de Zaraza”. This pollera was worn by our Cultural Attach\u00e9, Haydee Villarreal, as part of an exhibition of traditional dresses organized by the Central American Embassies to Canada on the occasion of jointly celebrate the Bicentennial of Independence from Spain.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
