Within the framework of ExpoVirtual (https:\/\/expovirtualpropanama.com\/?lang=en), Ambassador Avil\u00e9s had the opportunity to meet with Mr. Fabio Cabriles from Casa Bruja, an artisanal Panamanian beer company.<\/p>\n
The two discussed the market for craft beer in Australia, with the support of the Australia Latin America Business Council (ALABC) and other actors in the country, who have been promoting national exports from Panama.<\/p>\n
Mr. Cabriles discussed the successes and achievements of Casa Bruja with their awards in the World Beer Competition 2019, competing amongst the best in the world.\u00a0 He also outlined the differences between artisanal and commercial beer production.<\/p>\n
Mr Cabriles addressed the need for their beers to remain refrigerated and be consumed within 3 months, as they are fresh beers. Ambassador Aviles suggested the need for a “story” to accompany the beer; such as where the cococa comes from, and perhaps venture into the organic market, as both are very popular in the Australian market.<\/p>\n
