La Embajada de Panamá en Canadá, representada por la Agregada Cultural Haydee Villarreal, participó en el evento organizado por la Asociación de Mujeres Indígenas de Canadá (NWAC) para conmemorar el Día Nacional de Concientización de las Mujeres Indígenas y Niñas Desaparecidas y Asesinadas, conocido como #RedDressDay (#DíaDelVestidoRojo).
La presencia de la Embajada de Panamá en Canadá demuestra la solidaridad y el apoyo hacia la comunidad indígena canadiense, así como ser el puente para fortalecer los lazos de solidaridad entre las comunidades indígenas de ambos países.
Durante el evento se llevaron a cabo rituales de sanación con percusión y cantos para honrar la sabiduría ancestral de las comunidades indígenas y se desveló una obra de arte en honor a esta fecha como homenaje, así como también se ofrecieron diversas actividades culturales para resaltar la riqueza de la comunidad indígena canadiense.
The Embassy of Panama in Canada, represented by the Cultural Attaché Haydee Villarreal, participated in the event organized by the Native Women Association of Canada (NWAC) to commemorate the National Awareness Day for Indigenous Women, Girls, People of Two Spirits, Transgender and Diverse Gender, Missing and Murdered, known as #RedDressDay.
The presence of the Embassy of Panama in Canada demonstrates the solidarity and support for the Canadian indigenous community, as well as being the bridge to strengthen the ties of solidarity between the indigenous communities of both countries.
During the event, healing rituals with percussion and songs were carried out to honor the ancestral wisdom of the indigenous communities and an artwork was unveiled as a tribute, as well as various cultural activities were offered to highlight the heritage of the Canadian indigenous community.
