El viernes 13 de noviembre de 2020, la Em bajada de Panama en Australia celebró un webinar internacional titulado “Panamá, la gran conexión”: Inteligencia artificial y cómo hacer negocios en América Latina”.
Entre los oradores invitados se encontraban: La Embajadora Carmen Gisela Vergara, Directora Ejecutiva de ProPanamá, la agencia panameña de atracción de inversions y promoción de exportaciones de Panamá; Min Chen, CEO y fundador de la empresa WISY un proveedor de inteligencia artificial con sede en Silicon Valley; Giovanni Ferrari, Gerente General de la Zona Libre de Colón, la segunda zona de libre comercio más grande del mundo; Patrick Hartney, un profesor de Queensland University of Technology, y un joven empresario de la red australiana de Jóvenes Profesionales Latinoamericanos.
El evento fue moderado por la multitalentosa Edu-Entrepreneur Paula Mills, CEO y fundadora de la Academia de Emprendedores.
La presentación WISY explicó cómo utilizan la inteligencia artificial en los negocios, y cómo llegaron a tener tanto éxito. A continuación, se detalló la segunda zona de libre comercio más grande del mundo, incluyendo sus múltiples métodos logísticos para conectarse, incluyendo los aeropuertos, el Canal de Panamá, puertos, aeropuertos, etc. Por ultimo, el Sr. Hartney habló de las relaciones entre Australia y América Latina se están ampliando, sin embargo es importante educar al mercado australino para que conozcan las oportunidades de nuestra región.
La Embajada de Panamá en Australia, junto con ProPanana, entregó un galardón a Cam Ritchie, un joven emprendedor canberrés que ganó el premio de Impacto Social en el reciente Ideathon de ProPanama.

On Friday, November 13, 2020, the Embassy of Panama in Australia held an international webinar entitled “Panama, the Great Connection”: Artificial Intelligence and How to Do Business in Latin America.
Guest speakers included: Ambassador Carmen Gisela Vergara, Executive Director of ProPanama, Panama’s investment attraction and export promotion agency; Min Chen, CEO and founder of WISY a Silicon Valley based artificial intelligence provider; Giovanni Ferrari, General Manager of the Colon Free Zone, the second largest free trade zone in the world; Patrick Hartney, a professor at Queensland University of Technology, and a young entrepreneur from the Australian Latin American Young Professionals Network.
The event was moderated by the multi-talented Edu-Entrepreneur Paula Mills, CEO and founder of the Academy of Entrepreneurs.
The presentation explained WISY and how they use artificial intelligence in businesses, and how they became so successful. Following this, the world’s second largest Free Trade Zone was detailed, including how it uses its multiple logistical methods to connect, including the Panama Canal, airports, ports, etc. Mr Hartney spoke of how Australian / Latin American relationships are broadening.
The Embassy of Panama in Australia, together with ProPanana, presented a prize to Cam Ritchie, a young Canberran entrepreneur who won the Social Impact award at the recent ProPanama Ideathon.
