La Embajada y el Consulado Honorario de Panamá, realizaron el Primer encuentro virtual de panameños en Australia, con el objetivo de buscar un acercamiento mas profundo con los residentes, estudiantes, turistas y profesionales, que se encuentran en todo el país, saber de sus necesidades y conocerlos. Expusieron nacionales de Nueva Gales del Sur, Victoria, Australia occidental, Queensland, para un total de 33 de los casi 90 empadronados.
El Embajador Marcelino Avilés, dijo: “Una de las prioridades es velar por los nacionales en el exterior y es muy importante seguir las instrucciones de la autoridades locales para evitar el contagio”.
Por su parte, la Cónsul Bustamente, habló sobre los servicios consulares, mientras, que el Jefe de Misión, los logros de la Misión desde su apertura y lo que está haciendo el istmo para contener el virus. Además, ofrecieron su apoyo, alentarlos a participar de las actividades oficiales y promocionar el nombre del país, después de la reactivación.
Seis (6) panameños se ofrecieron de voluntarios para apoyar a otros compatriotas para conversar por temas de ansiedad y un empresario empleo. Se contó con la presencia del señor Gregory J. Thwaite, Cónsul Honorario de Panamá en Nueva Zelanda, y un estudiante en Auckland.
The Embassy of Panama and the Honorary Consulate of Panama, held the first virtual meeting of Panamanians in Australia. The aim was seeking a deeper approach to communicating with residents, students, tourists and professionals throughout the country, in order to meet them and get to know their needs. Nationals from New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia and Queensland participated in the event, with a total of 33 of the almost 90 registered residents.
Ambassador Marcelino Avilés during the meeting said: “One of the priorities is to look after the nationals abroad and it is very important to follow the instructions of the local authorities to avoid contagion”.
For her part, Consul Bustamente spoke about consular services, while the Head of Mission spoke about the achievements of the Mission since its opening and what the isthmus is doing to contain the virus. In addition, the Ambassador Avilés and the Consul Bustamente offered their support, encouraging residents to participate in official activities and to promote Panama, after borders reopen.
Six (6) Panamanians volunteered to support other compatriots to talk about issues such as anxiety and one entrepreneur volunteered his time to work. Mr. Gregory J. Thwaite, Honorary Consul of Panama in New Zealand, and a student in Auckland were also present.
