El 21 de septiembre fue el Día Mundial de la Paz, y para celebrarlo, la comunidad diplomática de Canberra, incluida esta misión diplomática, participó en la Ceremonia del Día Mundial de la Paz de 2020. Esta fue organizada por el Club Rotario de Canberra Burley Griffin en asociación con el Centro de Información de las Naciones Unidas de Canberra y contó con la participación de importantes oradores como Louise Aubin, Representante Regional del ACNUR en Canberra; el Dr. Michael Moore AM PhD Gobernador de Distrito de Rotary y el orador principal, el Sr. Tim Weeks, ex cautivo de los talibanes en Afganistán.

September 21st was World Peace Day, and to celebrate, the diplomatic community of Canberra, including this diplomatic mission, participated in the 2020 World Peace Day Ceremony. This was organized by the Rotary Club of Canberra Burley Griffin in partnership with the United Nations Information Centre Canberra and featured significant speakers such as Louise Aubin, Regional Representative for UNHCR in Canberra; Dr Michael Moore AM PhD District Governor of Rotary and keynote speaker Mr Tim Weeks, former captive of the Taliban in Afghanistan.
The day focused on the need for peace in the world, and was an excellent opportunity for the Diplomatic Corps of Canberra to unite together as one.
Ambassador Aviles, for his part, had the opportunity to ring the Peace Bell, a signal of peace and hope for global unity.
